I-35 Education Foundation Raises over $12k at Inaugural Roadrunner Gala

More than 130 community members and supporters attended the Feb. 25 event that raised funds to support innovative & engaging learning opportunities for Interstate 35 students.

The Interstate 35 Education Foundation was pleased to host its first-ever Roadrunner Gala on February 25, which welcomed over 130 guests, supporters and alumni. The gala will be the premier fundraising event for the Foundation going forward, and all funds raised support the Foundation’s mission of extending and enhancing educational opportunities and experiences for I-35 students and staff.

To date, the Foundation has proudly provided monetary support for a book vending machine, family STEM and game nights, and an exploratory learning cart. Funds are awarded to teachers and staff on a rolling basis, and the Foundation is looking forward to accepting new applications in the coming months that would benefit from the more than $12,000 raised at the Roadrunner Gala on Feb. 25.

“The amount of support we received from local businesses and individuals in the form of sponsorships and silent auction donations was just incredible,” said Kelsey Ritchey, Foundation president. “Our community’s giving spirit was on full display, and we’re excited to award these funds to innovative and impactful projects that stimulate holistic growth for our students.”

The 2nd Annual Roadrunner Gala will take place at the Red Acre Barn on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024. While the Roadrunner Gala is the primary fundraising event, supporters are welcome to give any amount at any time to the Foundation.
