My husband Richard and I moved to the Interstate 35 district 10 years ago after we fell in love with the area and sense of community. We currently reside in the country just outside of Truro with our three kids and my niece. My niece, Mia Greve, is in 11th grade, my daughter Riley is in 4th grade, Saylor 2nd grade, and my son James is in PK. I worked eight years as a probation officer after obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Grand View College. After having children, I decided to go back to school to pursue my dream of teaching. I graduated from Simpson College with a Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2017. I currently teach multiple different social studies classes and am a mentor teacher at Clarke High School in Osceola, IA.

My kids and their many activities keep myself and my husband busy. When we do have free time, we enjoy camping and tending to our hobby farm. We currently have multiple cows, goats, and chickens.

I chose to serve on the school board because it is directly in line with my passion of providing a bright future for our kids. I have served on the I-35 PTO, both in roles as a member and president, since my daughter Riley was in preschool. I have enjoyed helping to support teachers in that capacity and now look forward to supporting them on a larger scale. I am hoping to bring a parent's voice and teacher perspective to the board. My goal is to hold tight to the I-35 values, push for rigorous educational opportunities of our students, have transparency, and work with and for the community to ensure success.
