The Interstate 35 School District had a few students showing at the Clarke County Fair this past week.

  1. Kolter Good showed Sheep and Swine for the K. W. Hustlers.  He received a purple ribbon for his Purebred Yorkshire Gilt, Champion Home Raised Market Barrow, and Champion Intermediate Showmanship.  For his beef project he received a purple ribbon for his Home-raised Market Steer and made it into the top four in the Intermediate Showmanship.

  2. Keaton Good showed Sheep and Swine for the K.W. Hustlers.  He received a purple ribbon for his Purebred Market Hog: Duroc, a purple ribbon for his Purebred Market Hog: Yorkshire, along with both the Grand and Reserve Champion Market Hog.  In his beef cattle project he received a purple for his Market Heifer and a Blue Ribbon for his Home-raised Market Steer.

  3. Weston Garner received Reserve Champion Feeder Lamb and Intermediate Showmanship during the sheep show

  4. Callie Garner showed sheep, swine, rabbits, and poultry through FFA.  She received Sheep Overall Showmanship, Reserve Supreme Champion Commercial Ewe, Champion Home-raised Market Weather, Champion Home-raised Market Ewe, Reserve Champion Pair of Lambs, Reserve Champion Middleweight Crossbred Wether, and Rate of Gain.  Her Rabbit won Best of Breeds.  Her swine earned 3 blue ribbons.  Finally, in the poultry contest she won Overall Winner's Showmanship, Champion Breeder Pen Chickens, Reserve Champion Bantam, Champion Breeder Pen Other Fowl, and Reserve Champion Waterfowl.

  5. Brandon Andrews showed Beef Cattle through FFA.  He received Champion Overall Cow-Calf, Reserve Champion Overall Limosin, and was in the top 4 for the Senior Showmanship Class.  Brandon also showed sheep through the Osceola Go-Getters and received Reserve Grand Champion Ewe, Reserve Champion Heavyweight, and Champion Middleweight.

  6. We also had a group of students made up of Lani Petersen, Faith Stephens, Hannah Bedwell, and Callie Garner, compete in the Clarke County FFA Alumni Livestock Judging contest and they placed 10th overall.
