This week students in grades 3 -11 will be taking the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) tests. Monday & Tuesday students need to report to their homeroom/advisory by 8:30am & Wednesday by 8:15 am for testing.

Helping Hand in Indianola has been able to secure 100 food boxes for free to any I-35 community members. The food box contains dairy products such as a gallon of milk, cottage cheese, sour cream, block of cheddar cheese and butter, 2 packages of meat, and 3 pounds of apples, oranges, potatoes, and onions. The boxes can be picked up on Wednesday, April 7, from 3pm-4pm (or until boxes are gone) at the west end of the CTE building. Please come grab a box! 7th graders learning about the cycle of cell respiration & photosynthesis, and comparing two plant production methods; aquaponics vs hydroponics. By using a pH indicator we can see a chemical change in the indicator color that proves if photosynthesis or cell respiration occurs.




The FFA chapter is having its annual banquet on April 25th to celebrate the exciting year and accomplishments of its members. This year is a little different since Mr. Meggers is retiring. He has been the Agriculture Science Instructor and FFA advisor at the Interstate 35 school district for 33 of his 39 years of teaching. We are doing our meal, starting @ 5 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony. The FFA has asked that you sign up for a spot at the website below so that they can get a rough figure of how many people are going to be attending.

Past Interstate 35 FFA members and Agriculture supporters have taken the steps to starting an FFA Alumni chapter to help support the active FFA chapter and school Agriculture program. The membership is open to anyone who would like to support Agriculture at Interstate 35. Prior FFA membership is not a requirement to be involved. All families with students in I-35 Schools received an email survey on March 11. Please complete by March 23. The survey only needs to be completed once per household. If you did not received the survey, please contact the school. Thank you to all that have completed the survey!
