Today marks the start of National School Bus Safety Week.
We have an amazing team of bus drivers that make sure our Roadrunners are transported safely to and from school every day! Thanks, drivers, we don't know where we'd be without you!

Good morning, Roadrunners! This morning the Roadrunner staff kicked of their PD day with breakfast from EP True Chiropractic and flu shots from Montross Pharmacy. Thanks to both for helping keep our staff healthy!


Roadrunners have multiple events going on today! An ice cream social to meet our new I-35 staff at 5:45pm, Volleyball Senior Night at 7pm, Cross Country teams have a conference cross country meet at Panorama, and middle school Football team is at Van Meter.

The 6th grade ELA students are in the middle of a class reading challenge. If the class can fill up the bulletin board before end of the year, Mrs. Peacock will dye her hair whatever color they choose for the last week of school!

FFA Pie in the Face fundraiser! Decide who you would like to have a pie in the face and donate to their money bucket in the HS guidance office. The staff member with the most money raised will get the pie in their face during the volleyball game on October 14.

Mark your calendars! The I-35 Drama Department is excited to announce the performance dates for our next show! A "21st Century Christmas Carol" will be presented by the 5th-9th grade students at 6:00 PM on November 12th and 13th. We are also continuing to develop our prop department. Right now we are looking for small decorative items, knick-knacks, and Christmas decorations. This Friday, October 8 the chapter will be hosting a silent auction at the Football Game. Pies and metal work pieces will be auctioned off. We will also have baked items for sale. Please come and support the football game as well as the FFA!


Middle School Clubs have given students many new learning opportunities this year! Mr. Kaster's Woods Club has been creating coasters. Mrs. Megger's Nature/Outdoors Club has been building a brush shelter and learning about prairie habitats.

Mrs. Peacock's homeroom got a jump-start on one of the Healthiest State challenges - work out 30 minutes everyday. These kids are loose, limber, and ready to learn!

STEM learning in action - Mr. Coleman's MS STEM class had recently had an egg drop challenge. Each student was tasked to design a container to protect an egg when dropped from a step ladder.
