6th graders finished our Egyptian unit with an Ancient Egyptian Achievement/Invention bracket. They were tasked with creating an argument about why their achievement/invention was the best to come out of Egypt, and then they battled it out. All the kids created amazing presentations! Our class winners were Claire Tuttle with the invention of medicine, Carly Gehringer with the invention of the shadoof, and Lola Fales with the invention of the police force!

Activities for the week of April 8:

The middle and high school choir students travelled to the Civic Center in Des Moines on Monday to attend a performance of "Show Way" the Musical. Students learned about a line of women who grew up as slaves on plantations and made Show Way Quilts to secretly direct others to freedom. Their story was told through song and dance. The students also stopped at Jordan Creek Mall for lunch on the way back to school!
