Tomorrow, April 10, I-35 High School will host a Mock Crash Simulation designed to educate students about the serious consequences of distracted and impaired driving. This event is intended to provide a powerful learning experience that encourages students to make safe and responsible decisions when it comes to driving. The simulation will involve a staged crash scene and will include participation from local emergency responders, such as law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel, and some I-35 students. During the event, students will hear from the Iowa State Patrol and observe how first responders handle a serious accident . They will learn about the real-life impact that unsafe driving choices can have on individuals, families, and the community. Due to this event, there will be a large presence of first responders at the school on April 10, 2026. We are sharing this information in advance so no one is alarmed. The event is not open to the public.
